The best time to agree on house rules is before anyone is annoyed. In the first week, talk about guests, quiet hours, shared groceries and cleaning.
Write down what you agree, keep it short, and put it somewhere everyone can see.
When something isn’t working, raise it early and specifically. Small issues are easy to fix; resentment is not.
